“Everyone has the right to be an idiot” – Deadline

Today in Wisconsin, President Joe Biden responded to the latest in a series of people who interrupted his public appearances.

“As I said last week,” Biden told the crowd in an appearance broadcast on MSNBC, “we are still in the battle for the soul of America.”

The troublemaker then started yelling something unintelligible.

“Okay. God loves you,” Biden responded directly to the man, who was then booed by other attendees and likely attacked by security. Biden was more magnanimous.

No, no, no… no… let it go. He is, look, everyone has the right to be an idiot,” the president said. The man was finally escorted out, by video from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

It is not the first of his recent speeches to be so interrupted.

Thursday at Independence Hall in Philadelphia, hecklers yelled “F*ck Joe Biden” and “Come on, Brandon.”

The president again supported the protesters’ right to freedom of expression.

They have the right to be scandalous he said. “This is a democracy.” The then observedaccording to Jeff Mason of Reuters, “good manners are nothing to suffer from.”

In July, Biden was interrupted by the father of the mass shooting victim during an event at the White House. “Let him speak. Let him speak,” he said at the time.
