House of the Dragon just had its own bloody AF wedding

(Warning: the following contains spoilers for house of the dragon.)

It wouldn’t be a royal wedding in Westeros without a little bloodshed.

Following in the footsteps of game of Thrones‘Red and Purple Weddings, house of the dragonThe September 18 episode featured her own bloody royal wedding. Surprisingly, the chaos at Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen’s rehearsal dinner (Milly Alcock) and Ser Laenor Velaryon (Theo Nate) was not caused by Prince Daemon Targaryen (matt smith), Rhaenyra’s uncle who was disinherited and has an uneasy fixation on the princess.

Instead, the drama in question was sparked by Ser Criston Cole (fabien frankel), lover and sworn protector of Rhaenyra. Then who exactly Being Criston killed? Ser Joffrey Lonmouth (Solly McLeod).

But, before we move on to the brutal showdown, let’s explain how the two gentlemen ended up in this position.

Earlier in the episode, Queen Alicent (emily carey), Rhaenyra’s former best friend and current stepmother, questioned Ser Criston about the rumor that Rhaenyra was seen being intimate with her uncle in a brothel. However, Ser Criston did not realize that Alicent was asking about Daemon and admitted that he had slept with the princess himself, breaking his vow as a member of the Kingsguard.
