Ice Cube Lost $9 Million in Movie Role After Refusing COVID Vaccine

Ice Cube revealed that he lost a sizeable paycheck because he refused to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

“I turned down a movie because I didn’t want to get the fucking jab,” the “Straight Outta Compton” rapper, 53, revealed on Monday’s Nov. 21 episode of “Game worth a million dollars” podcast. “I turned down $9 million because I didn’t want to take the hit. Fuck that jab, and fuck all of you for trying to get me to do it. I don’t know how Hollywood feels about me right now.”

The NWA star clarified: “I did not become [$9 million] down. Those motherfuckers wouldn’t give it to me because I wouldn’t get the shot. I did not reject it. They just didn’t give it to me.”

Although Ice Cube did not name the film in the podcast, according to the hollywood reporterthe Friday the actor was referring to the next Twenty-one comedy oh hell no.

the Center for Disease Control states that “vaccines are safe and effective” and “recommends COVID-19 vaccines for everyone 6 months and older and boosters for everyone 5 years and older, if eligible.” The CDC also grades that “vaccination against COVID-19 significantly reduces the risk of severe illness, hospitalization, and death if infected.”

The “It Was a Good Day” artist joins a handful of other stars who have spoken out about their decision not to get a COVID vaccine.

Aaron Rogers he received criticism in November 2021 after he was diagnosed with coronavirus and revealed that he was not vaccinated, despite previously saying he was “immunized” against the disease.

“It wasn’t some kind of ruse or lie, it was the truth. If there had been a follow-up to my statement that he had been immunized, I would have responded with this: I would have said, ‘Look, I’m not some kind of anti-vaccine flat earther. I’m a critical thinker,'” the Green Bay Packers quarterback, 38, said in The Pat McAffee Show at the time. “I march to the beat of my own drum. I firmly believe in bodily autonomy, [in the] the ability to make decisions about your body, to not have to acquiesce to a woke culture or a group of crazed individuals who say you have to do something.”

While several stars have spoken out against the vaccine, most of Hollywood has been on board with getting the shots.

“Totally… VACCINATED!!! Grateful beyond measure,” Julia Roberts he wrote via Instagram in May 2021. “If you are not vaccinated and have the GOOD FORTUNE to get vaccinated, go go go! #We’re in this together.”
