Julia Roberts and George Clooney are reunited in the next movie ticket to paradise which was filmed in Australia. The longtime friends were trapped in a pandemic bubble and Roberts is now talking about how the Clooney family “saved” her during filming.
in a New York Times interview, Roberts and Clooney opened up about working together again after starring in movies like Ocean’s Eleven Y money monster. During the filming of ticket to paradise Roberts stayed alone in a house, while Clooney, his wife Amal and their children stayed in a nearby rental house.
“We started on Hamilton Island, with all these wild birds, and Julia had the house right below Amal and me and the kids,” Clooney explained. “I would go out early in the morning and say, ‘Caa-caa,’ and Julia would go out and say, ‘Caa-caa.’ And then we’d bring him a cup of coffee. She was Aunt Juju to my children.”
Roberts later said, “The Clooneys saved me from complete loneliness and despair. We were in a bubble, and it’s the longest I’ve been away from my family. I don’t think I’ve spent this much time alone since I was 25.”
the Pretty Woman The star revealed that “around the 11th”, Clooney started to “go a little crazy” while everyone was in quarantine when they arrived in Australia. Clooney chimed in saying, “That’s why they invented alcohol,” with Roberts adding, “or chocolate chip cookies.”
ticket to paradise suffered production delays in early 2022 as COVID cases rose in Australia. Deadline reported at the time that there were multiple cases in the cast and crew and that “American stars of the film had flown home to await the surge in local cases.”
The Ol Parker-directed film stars Roberts and Clooney in the story of a divorced couple who come together and travel to Bali to prevent their daughter from making the same mistake they did 25 years ago. Also in the cast are Billie Lourd, Kaitlyn Dever and Lily Lucas Bravo.
ticket to paradise is scheduled to hit theaters on October 21.
