Purifying the air. Meghan Markle is setting the record straight after raising eyebrows with a recent comment that many interpreted to be about prince harry and his father, Prince carlos.

the Suits The schoolgirl, 41, sat down for a candid interview with The Cut in which she opened up about her life outside of the royal spotlight since leaving the UK with Harry, 37, after leaving her senior duties in 2020. At one point in the cover story, which was published on Monday, August 29, the California native reflected on her strained relationship with her extended family.

“Harry told me, ‘I lost my dad in this process.’ It doesn’t have to be the same for them as it is for me, but that’s his decision,” he told the outlet.

Although many readers believed that the Work table The author was referring to Harry feeling he had lost his bond with the 73-year-old Prince of Wales, a representative for Meghan clarified to entertainment tonight on Tuesday, August 30, who spoke of his own father, Thomas Markle.

The “Archetypes” podcast host had previously been open about being separated from her 78-year-old father, who missed Meghan and Harry’s wedding in May 2018 after telling TMZ he had a heart attack and required surgery. At the time, Thomas had been caught mounting paparazzi photos, which she later admitted. In March 2021, she claimed in good morning great britain that he apologized to the Sussexes “at least 100 times or so” for the scandal, but “never heard back”.

In the Daytime Emmy winner’s absence from the royal nuptials, Charles walked Meghan down the aisle. During her explosive interview with CBS, the philanthropist addressed her fight with Thomas.

“I feel a lot of pain,” he said on the March 2021 broadcast. “I mean, I have lost my father. I lost a baby. I almost lost my name. I mean, there’s the loss of identity. But I’m still standing, and my hope for the people who take this away is to know that there is another side.”

Harry, for his part, has also been through ups and downs with his father, stating in the same CBS interview that he was “disappointed” by Charles’s response to the couple’s royal departure. “I will always love him,” Harry said at the time. “There is a lot of pain that has happened. I will continue to make it one of my priorities to heal that relationship.”

Two months later, the former military pilot criticized the future king during an appearance on the “Armchair Expert” podcast. “Isn’t life about breaking the cycle?” he said, explaining how he hopes to raise his children, Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 14 months, differently from how Charles raised him. “There is no blame. I don’t think anyone should point fingers and blame anyone. Certainly, when it comes to parenting, if I have experienced any kind of pain and suffering because of the pain and suffering that maybe my father or parents went through. I’ll make sure to break that cycle so I don’t pass it on.”

At the time, a source told exclusively us weekly that Charles felt “tortured” by his son’s beatings. “The general consensus within the royal family is to ignore Harry’s behavior to avoid fanning the flames, but Charles is finding it difficult to contain himself,” the source added. “He really wants to defend himself.”
