Multi-writer Bloom first found fame as the co-creator and star of the musical comedy series. crazy ex-girlfriend, for which sit won an Emmy, a Golden Globe and a Critics Choice award.
In this chat covering dealing with the pain of rejection, a creepy awards show origin story, and her love of historical conspiracy theories, Bloom also recalls being smitten by Stephen Sondheim and his favorite byword for female genitalia.
His latest foray into television is the upcoming new Hulu comedy show. Restart, in which she plays Hannah, a young TV writer who sets out to bring back an outdated family sitcom with its original cast, including Keegan Michael-Key, Judy Greer and Johnny Knoxville. The twist is that Hannah not only has a deeply personal connection to the original sitcom characters, but she actually wants to turn her bland and likable show into a quality project.
Bloom also talks about her experience filming the Paul Feig-directed movie. The school of good and evilwhich also stars Kerry Washington, Charlize Theron, Michelle Yeoh, Cate Blanchett and Ben Kingsley.
He has also recently published his book, I want to be where normal people are, and will present its stand-up comedy special in New York and Los Angeles beginning in September.
