bethenny frankel wants to take TikTok to court.
the Real Housewives of New York City alum is suing TikTok over ads that allegedly used his image and likeness to sell counterfeit products with his permission, according to court documents presented on October 6 and obtained by E! News.
In the class action lawsuit, Frankel argues that his “reputation and brand” are being “damaged and tarnished” through unauthorized marketing. She said her demands for TikTok to remove such ads have been ignored by the social media platform.
According to the lawsuit, “In one case, when Ms. Frankel posted a video warning consumers about the unauthorized and illegal use of her personality to sell counterfeit products, with the intent of informing consumers about the hoax, TikTok, ironically, it removed Ms. Frankel’s content as ‘abusive.'”

In a press release from his law firm obtained by E! News, Frankel said he’s learned that issues of alleged image and likeness misuse are a “widespread problem affecting creators of all sizes across the space,” so he’s also filed on behalf of from other content creators.
