Love your neighbor! As the residents of Jackson, Mississippi struggle in the midst of the fourth day of the water crisis, two women do what they can to make a difference. Social media personality and entrepreneur Supa Cent and her best friend Bee Marie kept her word. They headed to Jackson from New Orleans to provide clean water for the community. The women took to her Instagram with an empty bus to report giving out more than 10,000 bottles of water.
The women took to her Instagram, sitting on an empty bus provided by Bus Ion Get Tired that had been filled with water just hours before.
“We came here as promised, with our boots on the ground, to make sure we did our part,” Bee said. “Today, we have delivered more than 10,000 bottles of water to the community.”
Supa chimed in, thanking her followers for providing the place to dole out the water. The chief’s best friends initially announced that they would be going to Jackson on Thursday. The CEO of Crayon Case wrote on Instagram: “@1bee_marie and I decided to rent a Uhaul to load up for the Mississippi water shortage. Unfortunately we couldn’t find any, but @bus_idgt_partybus was on hand to help. Today we are filling the party bus with boxes of water. Anyone in Jackson, Mississippi, please direct message us the locations for deliveries. We’ll leave early tomorrow morning. Don’t forget to #LoveYourNeighbor during difficult times!!”
Soon after, the women headed to Costco with their teams to collect tons of cases of water.
The water couldn’t have come at a better time. CNN reports that residents have been instructed to shower with their mouths closed while repairs to the water treatment plant continue.
Our thoughts are with those affected by this tragedy.
