The Duchess of Sussex has an impressive collection of dresses.
While the Duchess of Sussex may have been less criticized since she stepped down from her royal duties and moved out of the country, that doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate her previous outfits. Here are all of our favorite Meghan Markle dresses from her Hollywood to her royal days, including her Givenchy wedding dress and her outfits from her royal tours and her red carpet.
Meghan Markle style
The evolution of the Duchess of Sussex’s style can be roughly divided into three timelines: her acting career, her years as a royal in the UK, and her new life in Los Angeles. That’s because each of these required a completely different wardrobe.
Meghan had a successful run as Rachel on the hit TV show. Suits, as well as some movie roles, and as a result had to attend many red carpet events to promote her work. At the time, she was a big fan of elegant pencil dresses, often strapless and in bold colors, as well as short party dresses.
As she transitioned into her role as the wife of Prince Harry and a new member of the royal family, she had to navigate many new rules, especially when it came to her wardrobe. For example, women of the royal family must wear skirts below the knee, leggings and avoid wearing diamonds during the day, among many other guidelines.
Adjusting to life in Los Angeles with her family, the Duchess has returned to her California roots, preferring laid-back outfits like jeans, oversized shirts and flowy dresses. That said, her powerful wardrobe for business meetings is second to none and she often opts for tonal looks.

Like her sister-in-law, the Duchess of Cambridge, Meghan Markle’s dresses tended to be from local designers and brands during her career as a UK royal. Some of Meghan Markle’s favorite fashion brands include high-end labels like Victoria Beckham, Emilia Wickstead, Strathberry, and Stella McCartney.
He also prefers high street brands like Reiss, Jigsaw and M&S, brands he collaborated with on his clothing project for The Smart Works charity. Of course, being American, the Duchess also wears many American brands and designers, including Carolina Herrera, Misha Nonoo, Mother Denim and J.Crew.
Since having baby Lilibet, Meghan has understandably stepped away from the spotlight a bit, however, she has made a couple of appearances that we love. She and Prince Harry took a mini business trip to New York in late 2021 to take part in Global Citizen Live and encourage rich countries to share their vaccines with those in need.
They also attended meetings with the Governor of NY, and the occasion called for a sharp work wardrobe. Meghan could be seen in tailored coats and knitwear, carrying accessories such as the Lady Di Dior bag, a tribute to Princess Diana. She also wore a red Carolina Herrera gown that made headlines at the 2021 Salute To Freedom gala.
I’ve included those and all of her best looks since joining the royal family, as well as her best red carpet dresses from her acting days. Keep scrolling…
