Tiger Woods Cheers On Serena Williams At The US Open: Photos – Hollywood Life

Serena WilliamsThe 40-year-old played her US Open second-round match on August 31 just after her retirement was announced, and many famous faces were in the crowd. legendary professional golfer tiger forest46 years old, made a rare appearance at the tennis match with his girlfriend Erica Herman, 37, as the duo cheered her on. The famous athlete seemed to have had a great time, as he smiled at various points during the event, and also stood up to applaud Serena at one point.

Some other A-listers in the crowd included Euphoria Actress Zendaya, Fashion editor Anne WintourModels Gigi Y bella hadiddirector skewer readsand legendary tennis player billie jean king. King kept his look casual in a black t-shirt and blue jeans, complementing his look with a gray cap and black Nike sunglasses. His girlfriend also wore a casual look with a long-sleeved white blouse paired with a hot pink blouse underneath.

Tiger’s attendance at the match comes as no surprise, as he and Serena have been close friends for years. Williams’ younger sister even mentioned Tiger in a personal essay about his plans to “evolve” away from the sport in Fashion earlier this month. “I said, ‘I don’t know what to do: I think I’m over it, but maybe I’m not over it. [tennis],'” she wrote. “He’s Tiger, and he was convinced that I was a beast in the same way he was! He said, ‘Serena, what if you just give him two weeks? You don’t have to commit to anything. You just go out on the court every day for two weeks and give it your all and see what happens. I said, ‘Okay, I think I can do that.'”

And although many call it retirement, the professional tennis player has insisted that she is not a fan of that word. “I have never liked the word retirement. It doesn’t seem like a modern word to me. I’ve been thinking of this as a transition, but I want to be sensitive about how I use that word, which means something very specific and important to a community of people,” Serena wrote. The player of decades added: “Perhaps the best word to describe what I am doing is evolution. I am here to tell you that I am moving away from tennis, towards other things that are important to me.

During Wednesday’s match, the legendary athlete proved that she is still the GOAT, as she won against the Estonian. Anett Kontaveit in a 6-2 win. Serena will advance to the third round of the US Open tomorrow. And she’s not only going to advance to the third round, but she’s set to start in women’s doubles with her sister, venus williams42, on September 1.
