Video of The Path of Water – Deadline

Social media is abuzz in overseas markets where Disney today began releasing a remastered version of James Cameron’s original 2009 film. Avatarand while the public receives images of the upcoming sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water.

The studio isn’t commenting, but based on a myriad of posts on Twitter, there appears to be a brief glimpse of the path of the water tagged at the end of Avatar. In addition, and obviously depending on the market and/or cinema, the footage shown is not the same in all instances. What is fairly uniform is the positive reaction (see a selection of tweets below).

Avatar today it is notably re-released in Korea and France, and all international markets will be added this weekend except Spain (which comes out on September 30), China (where it was already reissued in 2021) and Russia. The 4K High Dynamic Range version will play on over 8,000 screens offshore (with around 50% in 3D). North American releases on Friday.

It is not clear if this taste of water path it will be offered in all markets, however it would make sense as Disney whet their appetite for the highly anticipated sequel.

The original Avatar it is the highest-grossing film of all time worldwide with over $2.847 billion. Written and directed by Cameron and produced by Cameron and Jon Landau, Avatar stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez and Sigourney Weaver.

the path of the water is the first of several planned sequels and begins its overseas release on December 14, landing in North America on December 16.
