Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honeywhich follows Winnie and her best friend Little pig like terrifying assassins after their owner Christopher Robin abandons them. The first trailer was released on Wednesday, August 31, and offers a glimpse of this terrifying new version of Winnie the Pooh.

Craig David Dowset play Winnie the Pooh and Chris Cordell play Piglet. In the trailer, Christopher Robin, played by Nicholas Leon, goes off to college and ditches Winnie and Piglet. In response, the dynamic duo go feral and begin murdering anyone they come across. A group of college girls stay at a country cabin and become prime targets for Winnie and Piglet. Eventually, Winnie comes face to face with Christopher, who has returned to the woods where he left them with his new wife. But Christopher does not receive a friendly welcome. “We used to be friends, why are you doing this? I would never have left, I swear,” Christopher says as Winnie and Piglet give chase.

Director rhys water field discussed the slasher film in an interview with Variety In May. “Because they’ve had to fend for themselves so much, they’ve essentially gone wild,” he said of his version of Winnie and Piglet. “So they have returned to their animal roots. They are no longer tame: they are like a vicious bear and pig who want to run around and try to find prey.”

The director also explained how he balanced horror and comedy in creating this film. “When you’re trying to make a movie like this, and it’s a really crazy concept, it’s very easy to go down a route where nothing is scary and it’s really ridiculous and really stupid. And we wanted to go between the two.” Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey It doesn’t have a release date yet.
